We Not Dead
March 6th, 2008 | Development
Well if you are active in the forums you will know that we are still here. Been busy lately with school, and am not gonna lie, its kicking my butt even though i dont have a job… which may be what makes things kindof hard doing this and that to keep up with the bills and rent, not even the Benjamin Family. Anyways, you can expect great things from Uniform Server this year, we will be coming out with a new pack of MINISERVERS created by Ric, and also getting some spanking new updates and some improvements. You will definitely catch Apache 2.2 this year if you wondering and some plugins that have been sitting in the SVN unpublished will be released also.
Everything will be done one by one as i am still looking for an apartment since my lease expired last year and my former roommate doesnt have funds to room again. Expect an update to 3.5, 3.5.1 hopefully soon. This will not contain Apache 2.2 though as we are saving that for 4.0, the next major release. 3.5.1 will contain patches, updates and bug fixes to the server.
If you need anything, catch us in the forums.
Best Regards,

There’s a project going at the Open University in Milton Keynes U.K. called Offline Moodle.
I think they are going to wind up using Xampp but I think if Uniserver had a linux version I might be able to persuade them to do that instead. I am a financial contributor to this project, check the records.
I guess my question is that I heard there would be a Linux version of uniserver is there any reality to this or is it just talk.

Currently we are in researching that theory. But we hope that before the year 2009 ending we should have the Linux and Mac version released.

Sorry to ask a terribly naive question but isn’t that something called “LAMP”? And doesn’t it exist already?
I guess this is really a way of asking what makes a Linux port of The Uniform Server different to LAMP.

Sorry, the ducks dropped off the first paragraph of that message! It was intended to be humorous!

I hope you remember me Ola. Linux and Mac versions are interesting idea. We can do some stuff in Python for that Instead of shell scripts.
